"Sirente" is modelled after a master bass attributed variously to Nicolo Amati, or Daniel Parker, probably over 200 years ago. Whoever made the original, it is a unique form and a powerful bass. The TALKBASS Thread about this bass is here: http://www.talkbass.com/forum/showthread.php?t=250561 === My bass is made from Silky Oak back and sides, Western Red Cedar top and Tasmanian Blackwood neck. Blocks and braces are cedar, and the purfling s tasmanian Huon Pine.
Where is the "Sirente" name from? Monte Sirente is a mountain in Abruzzo, italy, that overlooks the tiny villages of Molina Aterno and Castevecchio Subequo There's an interesting story about a meteorite hitting the mountain in the middle ages, causing a tremendous roar and flash of light.
